Right this minute TI is mad for North London outfit, The Chap. I find them so funny. BBC punter John Peel would have lived for them. They are so normal their fans say they look like teachers and that's too true. Their new album "Mega Breakfast" has this really droll track, "Fun and Interesting" with a chorus that goes "My generation/Needs another me" . I like their live videos.Get into the drummer and his LED T-shirt (coming to a runway near you) and the kids in the audience are beyond cute. I ache for London right now!

Giorgio Moroder was the producer behind Donna Summer's genius "I Feel Love". There's a famous story, which David Bowie likes to wheel out, about that time in the late 70's when Brian Eno rang him up screaming that he had just heard the future. He dashes over to Bowie's hotel room and puts on "I Feel Love" . " That wonderful soulful singing over that cold Germanic machine music! It's the future!" Eno was said to have declared. He was right. TI loves cold Germanic machine music and this track is taken from Moroder's solo album E=MC 2. Get into the shout-outs to the production team at the end. Hilarious!

An eerie self-fulling prophecy on the cover of " Patriotism"

I can't quite call it " Current Viewing" because I just stumbled on this short film by the Japanese novelist Mishima via a tip from a TI reader. I'm so in love with cover design of this Criterion DVD however, I just had to post it. Thanks RD! I didn't even know Mishima had made a movie!

Exit Art's summer exhibition, Summer Mixtape Volume One: the Get Smart Edition, opens on Thursday, July 24. Drawing on influences from hip-hop and popular culture, the exhibition seeks to evoke the appropriated, personalized essence of the mixtape. Summer Mixtape features 27 up-and-coming artists from the greater New York area and works that range widely in theme and medium, mirroring the diverse sights, sounds and cultures of the New York streets. The exhibition, curated by Exit Art's Associate Curator, Herb Tam, and Assistant Curator, Lauren Rosati, will also feature a jukebox with mixtapes produced by the artists and some special guests.
