Duncan Jones got his professional start as a wild-cam operator for director Tony Scott.
TI loves 70's sci-fi which is why at Sundance I found myself hugely attracted to Duncan Jones' flick "Moon" starring Sam Rockwell. As Mr Jones himself stated "Think "some sci-fi classic from the 70s that somehow was over-looked and has only now been unearthed." As a meditation on loneliness and isolation, the level of thinking invested by Mr Duncan into his story and characters reveals a philosophical sophistication unusual in commercial cinema. I think this film is going to be huge when it goes to general release . I suppose I should say Duncan Jones is the son of rock icon David Bowie. Which amplifies the irony of the very "Space Oddity" nature of the film's concept. "Moon" is Mr Jones' directorial debut. Cut to the jump for the Sundance catalog description of the film.
