Big jewelry on men is something I'm still learning to love, but I had to give it up to Surface 2 Air for lensing this witty promo for the Louis Vuitton "Blason" line of jewelry done in tandem with Pharell. Its like a hip-hop video except instead of pushing the song it pushes the merchandise that usually plays as backdrop in those videos. Smart.

B-Ball trainers from Y3

Caught up at Barolo this afternoon with Iconic Mgmt's Ingo Nolen who had some great tips about Berlin Fashion Week FW 08 (last week of January) as well as a sharp breakdown on the mechanics of the lucrative German fashion market. There's a lot of good middle class money in them thur hills. I've always wondered why such a fantastically weallthy culture never managed to generate a bonafide luxury fashion brand (besides Jil Sander... and that is a sad story though apparently with an interesting up coming twist). In any case as we walked up West Broadway we just happened to stumble onto the grand opening of the new BBC/Ice Cream Flagship store at 456 Broadway. There were mobs of fresh faced young homies gobbling up the candy colored kicks and I thought "Good for Pharrell. His moment has gelled. " But fuscia pink and flourescent orange trainers on TI....? This, we'll concede to the fifteen year olds. Instead rang my mate up at the Y3 showroom and ordered up these military flavoured trainers. I rode last season's olive variation to the ground so these are the replacements. Y3 forever!

All I want for Christmas (right this minute) is this new Brooklyn Machine Works bicycle (apx $4000) because only those who know WOULD know. After skateboarding, urban biking is getting big in Brooklyn! Which is not to say I'm the only one getting into it.
