ANGEL ANGEL DOWN WE GO STARRING DAN CAMERON by JOE LALLY

Joe Lally strikes again in his latest exclusive edit. This editorial shot for THE IMAGIST is based on the wonderful AIP movies of the 70's, that were often an exploitation of the counter-culture youth market.
In this pictorial, PIW's model-actor Dan Cameron plays one of the characters in a film produced by AIP, entitled 'Angel, Angel, Down We Go', that actually starred Hollywood legend and movie star Jennifer Jones. Dan plays a hippie gone over the wire in a Los Angeles Cult.

AN INSTALLATION GROWS IN BROOKLYN: ARTIST Chris RUCKER: A VISUAL REPORT BY JOE LALLY

I grow more and more in awe of Joe Lally each day. He's become a super-sharp contributer to The Imagist, with not only his snaps of very beautiful boys, but in his ability to turn us on to the coolest art ventures, right this minute. Here's Joe's latest piece:

A recent installation of artist/designer/construction worker Chris Rucker, who works primarily with wooden sheet material, in this case strand board, a material traditionally used as a plywood replacement for exterior sheathing and sub-flooring. This work is in the basement of a building being constructed in Williamsburg, Brooklyn that Rucker has worked on as well as photographed throughout its construction. The work incorporates the basic building block from Rucker's furniture line he began in 2001. His first basic unit is a chair which he uses as a simple prop to stand a full sheet of material on its edge. This connects with much of the photography and drawing that form how Rucker looks at many of the processes of building. CHRIS RUCKER IS MAKING FURNITURE AND SPACE INTO AN ART MEDIUM, AND THIS IN MY VISUAL REPORT:

CURRENT VIEWING:JUERGEN TELLER:UKRAINE EXHIBITION:LEHMANN MAUPIN

PH: Juergen Teller from his Lehmann Maupin Gallery showPH: Juergen Teller from his Lehmann Maupin Gallery show

Very sorry about the slow updates guys, but this Fashion Week has simply been the greatest time management challenge of my life! But it's mighty Joe Lally to the rescue. We have a hot Tyson Ballou story of his docked and ready to go, plus he just sent this hot tip from Art Knowledge News, RE: Juergen Teller's Lehmann Maupin Gallery show. You're a lifesaver Joe!

NEW YORK CITY - Photographer Juergen Teller will present his recent body of work Ukraine, for his fourth exhibition at Lehmann Maupin Gallery. Teller was commissioned, along with four other artists, by the PinchukArtCentre to interpret the Ukraine for the 52nd International Venice Biennale 2007, where a selection from this series was first shown. This exhibition marks the first time, an expanded version, along with other new works, will be shown in the United States.

Faced with how to experience and discover the Ukraine, Teller chose to employ the city as a setting for a W Magazine fashion shoot, characteristically mixing fashion, still-lives of the city, and portraits of ordinary people as a way of representing his own fantasy of a country marked by a brash youthful energy and an obsession with capitalism. In Teller’s Kiev the membrane between harsh economic reality and obtainable fantasy is surprisingly thin and these pictures represent a place where beautiful girls wait to be discovered in a place where the desire for luxury has reached a fever pitch.
