Marc Jacobs knows a thing or two about coming together

How incredible is that expression, "I came together" . All the kids have been using it lately to describe that moment when your sense of restraint, diplomacy and patience just snaps and what comes out of your mouth is raw, real, unedited honesty. Well this Fashion Week models, agents, designers, stylists and especially casting directors have been coming together and I consider it brilliant theatre. I know because I have been on the receiving end of it and I know because I have surprised myself a few times and come together in ways unusual. Coming together when done right is the opera diva going for the aria. Even when you don't like the song being sung, there are some divas whose coming together is just so eloquent and poetic it is awe-inspiring. It is a part of what makes Fashion Week fun. I mean, who can forget the major ways in which Marc Jacobs came together last season? It was a case study in how it was done. The actor who will play Marc in the movie will find that scene in the script to be the peak point of the performance. But the Hiss Squad reports that Marc is very mellow this year. Things are, oddly enough, serene on Spring Street. Maybe the clothes each season leak an energy that gets into the staff. The Hiss Squad tells us it's a very classic, very composed collection. High necklines and strange skirts somewhere between skirts and pants. Neutrals and pastels they say, though I don't know what the hell that means. We can't wait to see. ...Elite's veeeery elite, Ali Stephens have had absolutely no reason to come together all week. TI caught up with Ali this morning for a quick video for MDC, even as we snapped her for the special model insert I'm currently compiling for Spur Japan. Ali was a very well-rested, happy and relaxed girl this morning. No breaking down in tears of exhaustion and frustration backstage for the most exclusive girl in NY ! Just a nice All-American girl laughing her way to the bank. Those Elite kids are very smartly polishing up those quirky yet classic girls they keep uncovering. Don't sleep on that board! Check out the Top 10 Newcomers tmrw morning and you'll see....Otherwise I've being battling through the tour of duty for The Rad. Its very interesting watching the clothes fall onto the models and then click into place. The looks pasted up on the wall , alone looks like a magazine I can't wait to see what happens once there's music and hair and make-up and lighting and all those blue chip editors watching. It's coming together in the ideal sense of the expression. Stay tuned!
