An accomplished headhunter risks everything to obtain a valuable painting owned by a former mercenary.
File alongside "American Psycho" and "Shame" to make for a triptych about the psyche of masculinity in trauma. With "Headhunters" you get a definitive anti-hero as leading man...icy cool interiors measured against raw gore and violence and a coded morality tale about the evils of materialism. There's a femme fatale, beautifully dressed men, big ticket art and omnipresent guns. Yup, "Headhunters" is that post-recession corporate fantasy for our strange times. I bet the Hollywood remake will feature a standard issue matinee idol.
