How long did it take directional art/fashion bibles like Purple and self-Service to hit their current peak? Was it 10 years? 15? TI is fascinated by the recent rush of hyper-creative bi-annual publications battling to make a moment in our current Zeitgeist. The latest entry is File magazine which clocks in at 56 pages and comes packaged with a DVD that showcases 2 hours of short films, music videos and interviews. As a sweetener there is a commissioned limited print by Geoff McFetridge which makes File#1 all the more collectible. I'm thinking print is not dead. It's just mutating.
