TI IS MAD FOR : OFR BOOKSTORE: PARIS

OFR is going to see a lot of TI this weekOFR is going to see a lot of TI this week

Downstairs from where I'm staying is the brilliant bookstore for Ofr. (library and gallery) and TI is deeply in love. The new Self-Service, Fantastic Man,drawings, Polaroid 600 cameras, art postcards, back issues of all the directional mags, notebooks, rare Bless products, furniture, T-shirts, vintage books, rare candles, cool old leather bags, wool scarves, flowers, fragrances...It's all a lovely blur and I wish I could get a table in there with a good tea and a pile of pastries and spend the rest of the week huddled in a back corner, making of myself an eccentric fixture. THIS is my true dream of Paris.

purple

The store is managed by a crazy blond dusty stincky woman. She is extremely unpolite, unpleasant, arrogant, snobbish, dishonest, violent. She tries to sell incomplete catalogs saying that in any case she will find someone else who will take it like that. If you'll try to tell her that you feel that it's not totally fair, she will start yelling and screaming at you all the possible existing injuries, pushing you out of the shop with violence.
If you are looking for a good dose of crazy nosense outbursts and, of course, you have time to lose ... try it to believe! Pure adrenaline. There are the two last numbers of Purple magazine 2009 left, I wanted to buy both but one is damaged and the small catalog of photos attached is missing. And it's still 15 euros. As the good one, complete and not damaged. It's forbidden to ask for any clarification. Me OFR ever again. Ah, of course ... she will sell it ... but what a poor bitch.

I am mad AT ofr bookstore

She also owes us money.
They are 120 euros from some copies of a magazine we delieverd. She rejects our emails, inoices...
She doesnt want to pay us. For us it is been almost two years.
We think we will never get this money.
how somebody with a shop like that can be such a liar and abusing person?

behinf this "lovely"shop image, there are very dark and nasty behaviour.
dont let yousrelf to be fooled by it.

How funny

Our experiences were completely opposite. I found the store manager to be polite, considerate and kind. I'm not very chatty with strangers but she engaged me in a pleasant way..dug up the last copy of Fantastic Man in the store...showed me a rare book on Will McBride with no pressure to buy and invited me to the Mark Borthwick signing. When I couldn't make it she introduced me to Mark herself and had him sign a copy in advance. And I thought she smelled lovely.

yes ... how funny

Hi Wayne, thank you for your kind answer. I'm glad you have had such great experiences. Unfortunately I had one of the worst ever. Anyway let me quote you: "Downstairs from where I'm staying is the brilliant bookstore for Ofr. THIS is my true dream of Paris"... Are you two really "strangers"?

Strangers no more...

Actually I emerged into the daylight as her lover. Hot dew glistening on my fevered brow...I knew I shoudn't hide these things from you
