Former MDC MOTW Isa Asklof lands in NY at Women and trust ...this girl's chart is a bonfire of awesome magnitude right this minute. There's something about this face coming down the runway towards you that feels 60's Mod meets 90's London. Its a thing, I assure you.

She looks so cool in this
She looks so cool in this pic.... but not so good in some of the others (think it might have something to do with the photoshop liquify tool that has been used on the eyes in this pic).... and in just about every model test I have seen lately....
Isa is captivating, no doubt about it...
Wayne, I totally believe you. This girl is going to go places. But after commenting on Diandra, I'm reminded of how much easier success will come for Isa, which dampens my enthusiasm... ::sigh::

contrary to the belief of most,it doesnt come easy for anybody.sure white skin places some of us in a superficial yet benificial position over others, but it doesnt allways gaurentee success. The challenge of the future is to remove the power from racism by not falling into the trap of choosing sides or dishing out pity but really seeing that beauty is multi-hued,and much more complex than the status crew will allow. When we truly believe this we do not measure one another against each other. We just get to the work of creating amazing images that represent.

OMG girl you are just too Thesarusy like and downright confusing. I understand a bit of your rave/vent but dont understand it all? Listen here- Times are a changing. Look at the latest issue of the Cornflakes version of fashion-Vogue USA, look around at everything whats going on, smell it,breath it in-breath those winds right in and enjoy with a capital J! (as in enjoy)The change is here now and it aint gonna go away,it is here to S-T-A-Y (thank you lord!). Cmon -ease up, everything is moving nicely. Just enjoy it FINALLY!!
enjoy indeed
true enjoy it ,but never take for granted that it took hard work just to get this little bit of joy,and that it is a self-serving move on the part of the business to keep the moral of the consumers up .With that said there is a lot more work to be done in the fashion industry to insure that what we have today is not gone with the wind tomorrow .Take a look behind the scenes of fashion at who is creating these images and you will see why it is harder for some ethnic types to work than others.so if vogue or whatever magazine decides to honor people of colour with more coverage, please forgive me for not jumping up and down.Change is when staff rooms design houses and the production and ad house people reflect the diversity of our nation.today that is seldom the case. This is why i love Vmagazines
profile of the shakers and the breakers of design and culture ,they line up and show us who decides what is culture in the world and more than often they are european or of european descent and one or two asians,a latino and maybe a black chic who is secretary.Film crews, fashion houses, galleries, music world(corporate that is) the decision makers are almost all white.Times have not changed that much,do not mistake the salesmans pitch for true change, when we have changed you will be able to see my point of view and not want to pretend that we live in a world free of prejudice overnight, you will be able to really see that there is a lack of asian, mexican, latino and black representation in media
and you will take it as an offense on the human spirit that we deny the beauty of other cultures to feel better about ourselves. i will never take it for granted that what is bestowed upon me can allways be taken away given the fashion, this is why it is important to create something of ones own and not rely on bones thrown to us from the table.
Enjoy Indeed
I agree with you 100% you have made so many valid points. As we are on the brink of Change and change is not going to happen overnight bear in mind that 'change' is finally happening-slowley but it's happening right before our eyes. Again. I do respect what you are saying. I dont have any answers except that people weather Black,Asian, latino ,martian or white should just do thier best and bombard clients with Resumes and keep it going to show that talent is more important than race-just be proactive, strong, possitive and never give up! It will take time for equality to be truly observerd. But unfortunatley we have what we have in the USA and thank goodness it's all moving ahead. The race is a marathon and not a 100 yard dash. But we are at the start of the race now more than anytime before. Cherish this and go forward-it is only gonna get better if people just keep pushing. I know the negetivity-but fuck it- move ahead and shove talent down the throats of everyone. Have a think about that amazing woman that refused to give up her seat-Rosa Parks- (That should be a Steven Miesel story for W!!) concluding we can bitch and moan but if you want action you gotta rise above it and just Rock it!!
