Kohei Yoshiyuki: The Park
In the 1970's Japanese photographer, Kohei Yoshiyuki would haunt the parks of Tokyo in the very late night chronicling the things people do ...well... late night, in parks. In 1979, Yoshiyuki staged a show at the Komai Gallery that showcased not only those eerie , grainy images but also juxtaposed the visuals with sex tapes left behind by the customers of a notorious pay-by-the-hour motel. The show was a scandale du success but that very attention spooked the reclusive artist, who was after all working under a pseudonym. Now 30 years later Yoshiyuki has become a cult onto himself..and this book..The Park a veritable fetish object. Snap it up now!
infrared film
if I remember correctly, he used infra-red film and an infra-red flash, so the subjects would never notice the photograph being taken
