"The Future As Disruption" is a great premise for a show, partly because within the post-industrial sprawl that is latter day New York are all the latent themes that can be addressed in this gallery exhibit. There are cities brighter, shinier and more sci-fi than NYC these days but none can boast the perpetual sate of disruption that makes NY so NY. Using science-fiction whether in books, movies or music as its point of departure "The Future As Disruption" manages to play with the mythologies of Ballard, Gibson and Lucas (George) in ways that prove that the future is very much a product of our current imagination. Or lack therof.
